About Me
My name is Brianna Foster. I'm 18 and I attend high school in a very small town in Colorado, called Cañon City. Obviously, given my current location, there is no or easy access to the ocean. This means that I have to follow my passion through online research.
My passion for marine life began after I watched a documentary on how the ocean is being polluted by human activity. I thought to myself, "Has any of the trash that I've thrown away killed or harmed an animal?" A majority of marine animals are dying because of human pollution. If we continue to ruin the oceans and let them die, we will die. Even though marine animals live underwater, and the majority of us don't see them, it doesn't mean that they are not important. What affects them, will affect all of us.
The focus of my research is finding a way to reduce pollution and increase endangered marine animal populations. My first step is learning about the animal species and their biology. I also have to focus on oceanography and chemistry. Through this research, I am gaining knowledge on what may or may not work in my ideas.
After I graduate high school, I am attending Southwestern Community College in Coos Bay, Oregon. Then, I will transfer after two years to University of Oregon to study marine biology. They have an incredible marine biology program.
